Hyper Police tells the story of a nekomata-half - the offspring of a human father and a nekomata (two-tailed cat-beast) girl called Natsuki in the role of a Police officer in the year 22 H.C. (Holy Century). Due to peculiar circumstances, humans are an endangered species and the world is populated by animal like people, demons, monsters and the like...

On board with Natsuki, we have Sakura, a kyubi fox (magical fox-creature) with eight and one-fifths of a tail in the role of another Police woman. She can fly at speed, since she does not have a full set of nine tails, she feels inferior because of her incomplete powers. For some reason, Sakura is a somewhat obsessive woman who at first becomes interested in eating Natsuki

However, during the course of the anime, the two become good friends and help each other out in many occasions. The Hyper Police manga and anime has it all, romance, a little sex, a ton of humor and lots of action. The two girls, err, women (yes, Sakura really IS that old, her father is over 300 years old even !) are almost total opposites of each other. Natsuki may be an appalling shot, but she uses her two parasite pets, Fuujin and Raijin to engage in hand to hand combat (the pets can channel wind and electricity from their bodies, which Natsuki takes to her advantage by wrapping the pets around her hands).
